Nancy Larsen Farrell

Chair, Board of Directors, Fountain House

Nancy Farrell is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Fountain House, the founding organization of the clubhouse recovery model for people with serious mental illness, a model that has been replicated worldwide. She is also the current co-president of the Hermann Biggs Society, a New York based discussion society for public health professionals.

At the end of 2014, Nancy retired as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Weill Cornell Physician Organization, an academic medical group practice. Prior to returning to Cornell in 1997, she was Executive Director of University MSO and Director of Offsite Practice Development at NYU Medical Center. Previous positions included Vice President for Planning and Business Development at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Associate Dean for Faculty Practice at Cornell University Medical College, and Associate Director at The New York Hospital.

A graduate in biology from the University of Pennsylvania (1969), she received graduate degrees in public and business administration from New York University (1973 and 1977) and served as a visiting scholar in health care management at New York University’s Wagner School. She is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.

Nancy and her husband, Thomas, live in New York City.
