Stephanie Sandberg is the managing director of Out Leadership’s Advisory and Client Services practice, in addition to helping build new products and services as part of Out Leadership's growth strategy.
Her experience ranges from media to business consulting to private equity. She grew up on the marketing side of magazine publishing, and built her career at the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek and The New Yorker before becoming President and Publisher of The New Republic, where she split her time between New York and Washington, D.C. At The New Republic, she was among the first in the industry to pivot her business to an online-driven customer model, and built out its sponsorship platform; as chair of IMAG/The Independent Magazine Group, she was named a Folio:40 Industry Leader, and helped launch Magazines 24/7, the industry’s go-to conference on all things digital.
As a consultant, Stephanie helped bring Food Network Magazine to market, for Hearst; ran sales and marketing for PlanetOut/gay.com; and served as Executive Publisher of Columbia Journalism Review. As CMO for operations consulting experts SSA & Co., the G100, and High Lantern Group – a global efficiency consulting group, a CEO membership organization, and a thought leader communications firm – she dealt with operational and communications issues at all levels of corporate engagement. Most recently, she oversaw strategic communications for private equity firm Rosemark Capital, where she also conducted research for a book on entrepreneurs.
Stephanie enjoys reading, playing tennis and traveling (or just hanging out) with her wife and two daughters. She lives with them in Princeton, NJ.
